Kahaani is one of the movies which knows how to clutch viewers interest and attention very well.
From the frightening starting to the unpredictable ending, it proves successful to impress the viewer.
The scripting, casting and writing is just fabulous. Every actor gave justification to his/her role , especially Vidya Balan portraying every emotion to the point.
The story is highly intriguing , a treat for suspense thriller lovers.
The only thing which I didn't like was giving protagonist a bit of luck factor to be alive till the last.
Otherwise nothing will disappoint you.
It is a must watch, just go and add one more great piece to your memory.
So many things have already been said about this movie and there is only little I can add. To a crime-thriller noob this movie would be nothing less of a goldmine. The story has been perfectly carried out by its cast members. The way Vidya Balan carried out her role (specially the ending) left me in goosebumps.
the whole goddess durga thing was also carried out with excellence. The symbolism is very apparent throughout the film. Amitabh Bachchan’s voice was just the extra touch that this film needed to drive it to unparalleled (to my knowledge) excellence.
Kahaani holds a cult classic status among bollywood suspense thrillers thanks to the suspense that it managed to keep hidden till the very end in a very engaging manner. Only Sujoy Ghosh has the talent to capture the old dingy lanes of Kolkata so well. It is till date one of vidya balan's best film.
It was the launching pad for Parambrata in bollywood (who of course could never make it big in bollywood). The film successfully managed to trick viewers into believing something else would happen but ended up as a shocker to viewers.
If you haven't watched it yet, watch it today. I would suggest you to only watch this film and not it's sequels . Also not to forget, this film gave birth to one of the creepiest and haunting character in bollywood (who also got an above average spin off in 2021)...none other than BOB BISWAS
